Basically the same here. The chaplain had been coming to pray with us but when she died he was nowhere to be found. The nurses would lie on the phone and use fake names.

Consult with a personal injury attorney. Their services have declined to the level of negligence recently.

Our nurse could never remember her supplies. She always forgot her blood pressure machine and never had a stethoscope.

She was always on the phone screaming in another language and just sitting in my driveway at odd hours.

She came to check my Mom and said she was doing fine. One hour later we rushed her to the ER with pneumonia.

Vitas is obligated through state and federal governments to provide specific equipment, services, medication, etc.... If they aren't providing these things, contact a personal injury lawyer.

The company has a history of fraud.

Contact your state's health and human resources as well as the Medicare governing agency. Inaction by one can cause the suffering of many.

Unprofessional

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

The doctor was very sneaky and never even looked into his care. She came in his room at 2:45 and lowered his oxygen way to low, was suppose to gradually lower it but she took it open herself to lower it quickly.

When I get a call from my husband at 7:30 saying they are trying to kill him and come right up. I try to calm him down and reassure him they are not. At 9:15 the nurse and respitory therapist comes in and say they are lowering it way lower and the therapist says that can't be done that quickly, the nurse calls the dr and she says do it and I'm screaming no they do it anyways and I tell them to stay right there they leave. My husband us gasping for air saying help me and I'm screaming for them to come back and I'm trying to raise the oxygen back up and I can't do it.

They damaged his lungs worse than they were. They killed him.

I have dreams niw to what I had to watch my husband suffer because of them. Don't use them and never go to Northwest hospital.hospital.runr

Poor personal experience

After requesting crisis care for hours - I was reassured someone would be there the following day at 8 am !!

I am a family member as well as a nurse, I had called with serval status changes and medication increase requests over several hours

It took the doc on call almost an hour to call back with approved increase in frequency

When a person is actively passing !!! It is very important to be more responsive

Liquid Ativan was not provided even after request - family member was not able to swallow pills!!!

We had to crush and add water, then shoot in his mouth with a surging because hospice didnt want to pay for the liquid Ativan !!

You die once!!

No do overs !!! I will ensure that no one else in my world ever sends their loved one to Vitas Cincinnati !!!

You FAILED !!!

This place is HORRIBLE

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The utter level of unprofessionalism, lack of care for patients and their families is disgusting. My grandmother has been under their care for a month and I am in the process of finding another company and sending these incompetent people packing. Hold times are ridiculous, it takes hours for them to respond in an emergency and management blames their mistakes on staff. Their job is to care for patients and keep them comfortable and they do anything but. Stay away from this company and if a hospital suggests them as a provider; RUN!

A hard sell without respect for patient rights.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

This is for Vitas Healthcare in Orange County, CA:

Watch out - this is a hard sell company that behaves in unethical ways.

We had a very informative phone conversation with them regarding possible hospice services for my dad. We got some great information which helped us understand the entire hospice process and requirements.

That being said, once the phone call was over, we felt more like we were being sold than that my dad's care was the priority.

They checked back with me a week later, as I had agreed to.

I told them that their services were no longer under consideration because they were not a good fit for my dad at this time.

Several weeks later, I got a follow-up phone call from them to go over what their staff doctor had discussed with my dad's primary care physician.

We had never signed any type of waiver or consent form for them to access my dad's medical records, and I had made it clear that their services were not in line with my dad's needs at this time. They were going behind our backs to get this information.

And calling to share this information with me was just another sales tactic. I didn't listen to their assessment, told them they had no right for their doctor to have contacted my dad's doctor and told them to remove us immediately from their prospect list.

If my dad ever does need hospice care, Vitas won't even be on the list of companies to contact.

Poor patient care

Equipment malfunction

Equipment that never arrived

RN Mabel wants family member to do the first wound dressing change because she needs to go attend to another patient!

The HHA grabs patient by arm to stand rather than using proper body mechanics. Then she perceives just called the patient with hot water because she didnt check the temperature of the water!

Customer service never returns your calls.

The equipment department never picks up their phone and the 24 hour number is absolutely worthless because nobody there seems to know anything about anything. They are very good at saying oh Im sorry Im so sorry but that doesnt take care of the problem .

They dropped the ball on a terminally ill patient
